Does Varvara have lifeguards?
Yes — Varvara is an officially guarded beach with seasonal lifeguards on duty during the bathing season (typically 1 June to 30 September). Always follow the lifeguards' instructions and the colour of the flag they fly.
Is Varvara a Blue Flag beach?
Varvara does not currently hold the Blue Flag award. This is purely a programme certification — it does not mean the beach is unsafe. Many excellent beaches are not enrolled in the programme.
Can I rent an umbrella or sunbed at Varvara?
Yes — Varvara has a concession that rents umbrellas and sunbeds. Indicative prices reported to the Ministry of Tourism are shown above (in €, converted from BGN at the fixed BNB rate). Prices may be 1–2 seasons stale; verify on the beach.
